Mt Knucklehead and 9 mile.

This is a bike hike I took up to "lookout mountain" but I went first to the mountain in front of it--to the south and west of it. I think its called knucklehead mountain. It has a better view of the river--lookout mountain is slightly higher but the view is pretty much blocked. Nine mile and Spokane house and the oldest log structure in the area are down below at river level--the hike is begun by crossing the Little Spokane and immediately going right and then following the road up a few hundred yards and then taking the well marked trail up the ridge. Another good option is to not go to the top and instead and the marker post just follow the road which does a loop back down the mountain "cirque" and comes out near the indian painted rocks. The video below contains a couple moose and footage of the little spokane which is this same spot--so what a person sees depends on if you go there or not. The times I have run into moose--I was alone all 3 times.

Knuckhead peak--Lookout is BEHIND it.  Log cabin=oldest building in the county

I rolled up on my bike and thought WOW-- a new moose display on the lawn AND the mural.

This video is for the knucklehead lookout mountain trek--and I was a knucklehead to try and do it all in one day.
